A “one-size fits all” approach to weight loss is not appropriate or feasible.  Unfortunately, at this time there is no absolute ‘cure’ for obesity - would that there were! Some of us are able to take control of our eating habits and behaviours with nutritional and dietary advice. Others may require weight loss surgery to help reach their weight loss goals then avoiding the serious obesity related health problems.

The Gastric Band Service offers several weight loss options and avenues for you.  While we are specialists in gastric banding and gastric bypass, we believe surgical intervention works most successfully when supported long term with an experienced specialist and multi talented team. 

It is recognised that your weight loss surgery journey has improved outcomes when supported by a team that understands the behavioural and lifestyle changes associated with weight loss. Frequently, a reduction in weight and size brings a deeper understanding of lifestyle and psychological issues that have contributed to a developing a disordered or unhealthy eating pattern. 

We offer advice and counselling before, during and after your weight loss surgery, we offer support and follow-up care for those who have received gastric banding surgery elsewhere, including X-rays and band adjustment/fills.

When you have reached your personal weight loss goal we offer education and support in helping you to maintain your new size.
